Pooja Nansi

Pooja Nansi is an award-winning poet, performer and cultural leader whose work has taken her from theatre stages to collaborations with brands and cultural institutions across London, Berlin and New York.

As the first woman and youngest director of the Singapore Writers Festival (2019–2023), she reshaped the festival’s programming, broadened its audiences and challenged conventions around how literature is presented and experienced.

Her work moves between writing, performance, artistic commissions and cultural programming. She is Chief Publisher of AFTERIMAGE Press, a non-profit poetry publishing house, and teaches creative writing at Nanyang Technological University. She holds a PhD from RMIT University, with practice-led research examining embodied poetics and the minoritised body.

In 2024, she was conferred the Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by France in recognition of her contributions to the arts.
